One of my superpowers is stopping time, and I've been doing it a lot as I go through this pregnancy.
When we first got engaged I started a journal separate from my calendars and planning ones, just an old school journal. I would write about the planning process, my feelings along the way and about the events that happened.
I continued in the journal during our honeymoon, including ferry tags and camping posts from our road trip. Again about the food we ate, the places we visited and the feelings along the way.
The journal was intended to be of our first year of marriage, but since then it has evolved.
When we first found out we were pregnant I pulled out this journal again to read about the past 2 years. It brought me back to these moments. I could smell the smells, see the sights, feel the feels and was reminded of my superpower of stopping time.
Having been a foster parent in the past I know how quickly kids grow up. And seeing those "Baby's First" books in stores I knew I needed to tap into my time-stopping superpower as our baby grew and comes into the world.
So throughout this journey, I've been keeping track of the growth, what I've been feeling, notes from our doctors, and everything in between.
Try it out if you're looking to stop time. Write down 1 sentence about your day, 1 gratitude, 1 memory, 1 celebration. When you go back to read these things over you'll find so much magic.
